Case study: Three Bales Home Supply
Time: 6 days
Images: 1200 (product shots)
Location: Three Bales Home Supply (back room)
Look: Inviting, timeless, warm
Styling: Paige and myself
Paige of TBHS was looking to update their website photography. She was already doing a nice job on her own, but she was struggling to find time to shoot and also couldn’t quite get that professional look TBHS deserved (in spite of buying all the necessary equipment). Basically, keeping the website up-to-date was taking up a lot of time and felt like an uninspiring chore.
We chatted about shooting a few of their biggest sellers, but ultimately decided a consistent look was more important. We decided to shoot their entire inventory. We went over budget and time and came up with a payment plan.
The shoot itself was pretty low key. I set up in the back room and Paige supplied me with a list of products. We bought some herbs, fruits and vegetables to help give the simple product shots some life. From there I moved through all their products, one by one. We shot each item about 3 times: Overhead (lay flat), a classic 45º angle, and a more styled “detail” shot. Paige was busy tending the storefront but jumped in to help when she could. Overall it was a very fun shoot that resulted in images that truly feel like Three Bales Home Supply.
Paige has a very clear vision for her store and working with her was an absolute treat. She is a lovely human, and, now, a friend!
